6'6' 2018 Jaylen Sims – Positional Versatility
United Faith Christian
By Jamie Shaw

Jaylen Sims does a little bit of everything on the floor, and it is easy to see why he has picked up 20 offers since April. He is the consummate team mate, easy to thrive in all sorts of situations, depending on matchups.

Sims has an athletic body with a lengthy 6'10' wing span which enables him to defend multiple positions. Offensively, he plays with a great pace on the ball with good vision. He is able to finish, downhill, in the mid range or at the rim. After his performance at the prestigious 2016 North Carolina Top 80 we wrote, 'Sims has great length and explosion and he plays on the ball with a great pace. He showed the ability to defend multiple positions and has good court vision.'

Sims has been a long time attendee of Phenom events, and each time, in all the settings, he has impressed, 'Jaylen had an excellent day at the camp showcase, doing what he does best. He showed that he can score from all three levels and did it with great efficiency. Jaylen has a smooth shot and proved he can do it with range all day long. Loved the way he took it hard at defenders and really attacked the chest of his opponents, also showing that he can finish tough in the paint and in transition. Jaylen recovered well on defense and had several deflections and blocks.'

Sims is entering his senior season playing at United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina. He currently claims over 20 offers from the likes of Minnesota, East Carolina, Rhode Island and more. Watch for a memorable senior year, United Faith will be playing in some great events and Sims is ready to make his name known.
