6’5 Jeremiah Dickerson (Dudley HS) Commits to Paine College

We got ample opportunities to watch 6’5 senior Jeremiah Dickerson of Dudley High School at our summer team camps. We’re talking about a long, athletic and high motor prospect that makes a lot of winning plays that don’t always show up in the scorebook. We’ve been impressed with his full-throttle approach, energy, and ability to get to the rim. Dickerson checks a lot of boxes, but thrives going downhill and transition.

In speaking with Dudley head coach Kenneth Ferguson, he stated the following. “Jeremiah is an exceptional student-athlete, one that every coach wishes for. The true definition of STUDENT athlete. Great student in the classroom and on the court. Everything is always yes sir, no sir, extremely polite. Between the lines he is a relentless competitor, it was always about the team instead of him. Extremely proud and happy for him and his family, I know the process took a toll on him. He had to choose from over 20 offers from schools and that is not an easy choice to make. Jeremiah put in the work on and off the floor and now has been rewarded with a free education and the opportunity to play at the next level. The early morning workouts, the preseason conditioning has all came into fruition. His journey has just begun.”

For the season, Dickerson averaged 8.7 PPG, 3.5 RPG, but provided leadership and was without question, the team’s glue guy. In speaking with Jeremiah, he stated the following on his commitment to Paine. “It felt like a great opportunity to go work hard and be part of a great program. They play in one of the best D2 conferences in the region/country. Also, they emphasize defense and that speaks directly to me. They love defenders and that’s who I am with my energy and athleticism. I really felt like I could fit in right away.”
