6'5 Jacob Marshall Commits to NC Wesleyan

With Jacob Marshall, we're talking about a tough, hard nose blue-collar workhorse. We first watched Marshall last August at our ENC Phenon 150 camp. We were impressed with his passion, intensity and overall two-way presence. This past season, Marshall was instrumental in leading Reidsville to an impressive 26-3 record. He averaged 7.6 PPG, 8.4 RPG and also averaged one steal and one block shot per game.

Marshall is the type of player that will defend, rebound, scrap for loose balls and does all the little things that often don't show up in the stat sheet. He is a quick and explosive leaper and has a knack for scoring off second chance scoring opportunities. More importantly, he knows and understands his role and is happy being a 'team first' type player.

Marshall should make an immediate impact at NC Wesleyan. In our ENC Phenom 150 camp assessment, Phenom's own Jeff Bendel stated the following. 'He's a long, wiry forward/post prospect that doesn't necessarily require offensive touches to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Marshall provides great effort, especially as a rebounder, and does a great job of making hustle plays. He understands how to play within himself, taking smart shots and making passes to open teammates whenever possible. Next in his development process is working to add a formidable jumper to his arsenal, as it would make him a nightmare two-way matchup for most opponents.'

Also, ENC Phenom 150 camp coach Ryan Bernardi stated the following.''Jacob is a finishing machine in the paint. He finished well with both hands, below and above the rim. He rebounds very well and guards the ball effectively for his position.'
