North Mecklenburg Makes Case as the Best Public School Team in North Carolina
There is not a team from the Hoop State who has more depth of talent on its roster, and it seems Head Coach Duane Lewis has his rotations read and his guys really playing together, on both ends. While Tristan Maxwell stole the show (we will touch on that in a bit) his teammates were great. Chris Ford was an absolute load on the block, he is so strong and so explosive around the basket. What makes him so productive is his ability to track the basketball and defend across the floor. There are some similarities to him and Davidson great De'Mon Brooks at the same age. Robert Morris commit Treyden Williams proved to be a blur with the ball in his hands. He played controlled, but also very fast, putting the defense on its heels for the majority of the day. North Meck had others who stepped up as well, such as Shamon Artis, Tony Waters, Marcus Farley, and Jeremy Gregory. This should be a fun year.

With only keeping this to 3 Hot Takes, we wanted to speak on the team opposed to an individual, however, both are worth mentioning so this paragraph will be dedicated to the show Tristan Maxwell put on. It was an unbelievable offensive onslaught for the young man. A noted bucket getter, Maxwell shot the absolute leather off the ball, all day. In his final two games, he knocked down 12 3s, playing in only half the allotted minutes. He utilizes excellent footwork and his ability to come off screens or drift into the passer’s sight. In this event, he showcased unreal scoring prowess, one that Georgia Tech will be thrilled to acquire.

Christian Hampton Could be THE Most Explosively Exciting Player in the Hoop State
Hampton was a walking highlight film all day here. He was able to do it off the bounce, not only that but he absolutely plays above the rim. Hampton, the lefty, is an acrobatic, and explosive leaper who plays with ridiculous confidence to go with the ability to really bring a crowd to its feet. On multiple occasions, he was able to catch put back dunks on the offensive glass or catch a late rotation with a dunk on, or even one time throwing the ball off the backboard to himself. Yes, in its entirety Hampton has made himself into must-see tv this season, and when you pair him with Rutgers commitment Dean Reiber, this Northwest Team will be certain to be worth the price of admission.

How is Ricky Council IV Still Available'!
As the college coaches sat there watching him play, they were all wondering why, and how, he was still available. The mid-majors were sitting there licking their chops, in hopes that they may fall to them, With the Bertie High School team in attendance, there was a common theme of Kent Bazemore similarities running around the gym for Ricky. With that said, Ricky did all he could for his team, as he was forced to play center, act as the primary initiator, dominate on the glass and also carry the scoring load, all the while defending the opposition's biggest player and getting his teammates involved. Yes, he did this for 3 games, talk about carrying the load. For his three games, Ricky secured a double/double each time. He has recently taken a visit to Georgia Southern, the only visit he says he is planning on taking early. As he continues to play, it will be easy to see the coaches falling in love with what he does. Expect a big year for him, with big numbers.
