The season is quickly coming and going and there have been plenty of players that have been producing in a big way for their team. That can be said for one of the top juniors in the state of North Carolina, as 2023 Ta’Korrie Faison is posting some huge numbers and has his team clicking well down the final stretch of the season. We spoke recently to Faison to learn the latest, how the season has gone for him, and a quick update on his recruitment.

Season Update:

The season started a little rocky, starting with a 1-3 record but the Cougars have got back on track as they sit at 11-4 overall and undefeated in league play.  One of the main reasons why is the play of junior Ta'Korrie Faison who has been leading the way.

'It has been great,' Faison told Phenom Hoops.  'We had a rocky start at first but we finally put the pieces together and started playing as a core.  Defense has been a major key for us lately and with great defense, everything else comes easy for us.'

Faison has been one of the main catalysts for the Cougars, helping lead the charge on both ends of the court. He has been putting up some outstanding numbers, averaging 25.5 points, 15.1 rebounds, 3.4 blocks, and 1.9 assists so far this season, as Faison has wanted to show more of his impact on the court.

'My focus has really been showing people that I'm better than what they think and showing that I can lead my own team to a great season.' I've been focusing more on improving my motor and playing with high energy through the game.'

He certainly has opened up a lot more eyes his way with his dominating performances and he has Goldsboro sitting in a great position heading towards the end of the season.

Recruitment Update:

When speaking with Faison, he mentioned that his recruitment has been going well and he has been earning more attention his way.

'I've got interest from UNCG, Hampton, NC Central, Appalachian State, North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State, Tulsa, Mississippi State, Penn State, and Oklahoma State.'

For some of the high-major programs, they have been in contact with his high school coach, learning more about Faison and his game.  He also mentioned that schools like Appalachian State and Tulsa have been the ones staying in strong contact with him these days.
