The Winter Nationals with Phenom Hoops is one of the best events to start the season because we not only kick off the travel ball season in a big way, but we also get a chance to see the future around the country. So many players came through the doors this past weekend and left a lasting impression, as we dive in and break down many of their games.
One of the young prospects that grabbed the attention of our scouts was 2030 Blake Williams with Team Loaded 704. His energy level and motor were quite impressive all throughout, as he proved that he can be a multi-level scorer on the floor. Early on watching him, he was relentless with his ability to attack off the bounce, getting paint touches consistently, attacking the defense, and being a physical presence around the rim as well as on the glass. He later on showed more of his perimeter game, knocking down shots from behind the arc, getting to his spots, and mixing it up extremely well.
He was able to flourish with his versatility all over the court, and his overall aggressive nature is what helped him flourish in so many ways. Williams was consistent throughout and proved that he should be a name worth watching in the coming years.
What Was Said:
“2030 Blake Williams (Team Loaded 704) was impressive throughout the #PhenomWinterNationals. Strong frame and game, was willing to attack and finish down low consistently, and surprised me with his comfort from behind the arc as well.”
‘2030 Blake Williams (Team Loaded 704) was really impressive all throughout the morning. Absolutely loved his ability to operate inside and attack downhill, and then surprised me with his ability to step out and knock down shots.”
