There just aren’t too many prospects in the Class of 2029 that are receiving the early attention like 2029 6’3 King Bacot has already. The younger brother of North Carolina’s Armando Bacot, King Bacot is paving his own path early on and proving to be one of the premier prospects in his class early on. Phenom Hoops has had an opportunity to watch him on several occasions, with the most recent being at our events in Virginia, where we had this to say:
“Bacot was able to give us that glimpse when he played with Team Loaded 2028, and he elevated his game even more. He showed more of his strength and ability to break down defenders, create his own shot off the dribble, show his touch and ability to finish around the basket, but also step out and knock down shots; he mixed it up extremely well and gave us those flashes to show that this young man has the talent to be special. You can see that the game comes to him easily, but there is still a lot left in the tank for him to learn and develop that just makes him even scarier in what he ultimately will be at the highest level. Right now though, all you can say is that Bacot has the talent to be something special and a future star, as his future is all in his hands; he can be what he wants to be and if it all comes together, he should be one of the premier prospects in his class.”
It is true, Bacot has proven to be special early on and has a lot of talent that should certainly continue to develop in the coming years. He has a great feel for the game in his ability to make plays, score from all levels, be a playmaker on the court, and is trending well early on with his size and frame. Which is why so many are already recognizing his talent and are eager to see what he may ultimately become.
And though it is early, schools are already making him a target according to his social media. He recently announced his fourth offer from East Carolina, with the Pirates joining NC Central, McNeese State, and VCU as programs that have offered. And we are pretty sure there are plenty of other schools that are quite aware of the young man’s talent in the coming years, including North Carolina.
