Player: Brelyn Moses
Class: 2028
Height: 6’5
School: Rocky Mount

It is always fun as a scout to see the next wave of talent, who is impressing early on, how is trending in the right direction, and who could be “next up” in the coming years.  Plenty of talent has come out east, and many have 2028 6’5 Breyln Moses as the next up-and-coming.

Playing at Rocky Mount this season as a freshman, Moses has kicked off his high school career in a big way, impressing many and leading the charge at 17.8ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.6apg, and 1.2spg, as the Gryphons are quietly having a strong season.

Much of that success has been Moses’s elevated play early on, as he continues to show his early maturity with his game, how tough of a matchup he can be with his size ad ability, and his continued development. Watching Moses over the last year or so, he is one who has physically dominated the competition early on at his age. But he is proving that at the high school level now, as he continues to use his size to attack off the dribble, display athleticism with his game, and versatility in scoring from various areas.  But you can also see the upside as he continues to develop, working on his perimeter game and building on his overall feel.

Moses will be a hot topic for college programs, as he is already announcing offers from Milwaukee, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and most recently Wichita State.  That list should only continue to grow with the production he has shown and the potential in his game, as he looks to be one of the top players in the Class of 2028 and one of the next ones to come out of the Eastern part of North Carolina.

Freshman 40 Evaluation:

“Moving forward, we look at a player who easily stood out among the most productive campers on display, Brelyn Moses. He’s a strong, athletic forward prospect with an enticing skillset and versatility on both ends of the floor. Moses can create well for himself, find success without the ball, or take advantage of mismatches whenever possible. He’s too physically overwhelming for the majority of smaller opponents, where he’s able to post up and finish through contact. However, Moses possesses the skill and fluidity to cause problems for bigger opponents along the perimeter. He rebounds at a high rate and consistently blocks shots. Next in his development process is working on becoming a craftier ball-handler, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Adams on Moses: “Brelyn is an advanced player amongst his peers. His physical tools allow him to overpower opponents on both ends of the floor. He leads through his production on the court.” Moses proved to be one of the top performers in attendance and should have a highly productive freshman season at Rocky Mount.”
