Lady Phenom Hoops has been trying to bring more attention to the talent around the area on the girls’ side of basketball, as we highlight players that are deserving of more recognition. A team that we have highlighted on several occasions before has been Cresset Christian Academy, a program that looks to be building something special.
One of the young stars on the rise for that program last year was 2027 guard Trinity Jefferson, who is a player who deserves more attention around her game. Last season alone, she is coming off a freshman season in which she averaged 19.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 5.2 steals per game, helping lead her team to a memorable season as a champion.
When you talk about this guard’s play, Jefferson has to intrigue you with her impact and overall feel for the game at a young age. She shows that she can hurt you in a variety of ways, whether it is scoring off the dribble (showing tremendous poise and control, as well as patience on the court) or knocking down shots with tremendous range and a fluid release. But if she isn’t scoring, she is making impact plays by being able to make plays off the bounce and create opportunities for others or being a strong presence on the defensive end as well. Jefferson shot the ball really well last year, shooting 66 percent from the floor and hitting 43 threes, according to MaxPreps. And with a strong summer and a year under the belt, the time is now to start learning more about her game and programs to be taking notice.
