Player: Travien Williams
Class: 2027
Height: 6’2
School: Hickory Ridge

Continuing to highlight players this past weekend at the Phenom Lakesgiving event, we take a look at a sophomore who has really stepped up for his team with some key injuries on the bench. Hickory Ridge was missing a key piece this past weekend, but 2027 6’2 Travien Williams did what was needed and helped his team to a strong, gritty victory against Ashbrook at Lake Norman High School.

Williams is one that plays hard and understands how to score effectively using his frame, along with a good motor on the court. He is able to attack off the bounce well, penetrating or attacking out in transition, putting pressure on the defense, and really doing a nice job finishing or getting to the line. He uses his body well to embrace contact and has a physical feel to his game at 6’2. But you also have to love how he looks to impact the game in so many ways, competing on the boards, making plays for others, playing hard defensively as well. With Hickory Ridge short-handed this past weekend, they needed every bit of Williams’ performance, as he took it upon himself to lead his team with an impressive 27-point, 10-rebound game.

Check out more of what we said at the event and Williams is one to really keep an eye on more this season in North Carolina, as he looks to make himself a bigger name in the state.

What Was Said:

“6’2 2027 Travien Williams with a BIIG TIME performance for Hickory Ridge!!! Finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Made HUGE plays on both sides of the floor. Uses his body extremely well on drives. Also, knocked down shots from perimeter.”

“2027 Travien Williams (Hickory Ridge) has been a catalyst today for his team. Doing a great job in getting downhill and being assertive offensively, finishing some tough baskets. Also strong on the boards today as well.”
