Continuing to roll through the players we have watched this year, we head back to the Hoophall Classic in which we had a who’s who of names come on the court, including some of the top recruits in the country. But one player that we got an early look at and were highly impressed with was 2027 6’3 Josiah Adamson from Catholic Memorial High School.

Again, only a freshman right now, this is a guard who looks all the part of being a big-time prospect from the region and a hot topic for several future programs. This young man plays with a different demeanor on the court, one who has been playing the game for some time and a veteran for his team. But yet he is just starting his high school career…

On a big stage like the HoopHall Classic, Adamson was really strong in stepping up and being that go-to playmaker for his team. He has good size and frame early on for a player so young, but what really impressed me was his ability to be assertive and attack consistently throughout the game. He brings good athleticism in finishing at the rim, and was able to get inside the defense and attack the basket/defender while finishing. Strong handles, was incredibly confident with his game, and never settled; showed his competitive nature throughout on both ends of the court.

He has the tools that you don’t necessarily see early on for a young guard, but as he continues to develop and showcase more of his game, his ability to score from a variety of levels, and his playmaking ability, Adamson could be a name you hear a lot more in the coming years.
