The Phenom Seros Open had high-level talent rounding the courts throughout, which included one of the top prospects in the Class of 2027 in Lincoln Cosby from 444 Athletics. We were eager to see more about his game, as he came in ranked as a Top 10 prospect. Our very own Patrick O’Brien had this to say about his game:
“Cosby comes in ranked as a Top 10 prospect in his class and you can see a lot of the intrigue with his game. Standing around 6’9, Cosby flourished in various roles and areas on the court, making him a tough matchup when locked in. He came out early to show his range and ability to knock down shots from three, displaying a fluid and comfortable release from deep. He also mixed it up well in attacking the basket and scoring over defenders, really taking advantage of the matchup that was given to him. Cosby has a strong overall skillset to go along with his size, allowing him to impact the game in a variety of ways. I’m eager to see how much more he can develop with his game on both sides of the floor, as he truly showed he has a high ceiling.”
When watching Cosby in action, you can see the appeal with his game. He proves that he can be a matchup problem for opponents, displaying the ability to take what is given to him and operate inside and out. His comfort level from behind the arc stood out immediately at 6’9, displaying a fluid and confident release in catch-and-shoot situations. But if opponents matched him up against smaller defenders, Cosby understands to use his size to his advantage and get to the rim. Cosby is capable of operating from multiple levels as well as defending multiple positions, which is why so many schools have already offered.
In speaking with his father, Cosby holds offers from Auburn, Michigan, Ohio State, Memphis, Oregon, Louisville, Florida State, Houston, Cincinnati, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Arizona State. He has also been garnering interest from Tennessee, Marquette, and USC.
