Player: Yohance Connor
Class: 2026
Height: 6’3
School: Combine Academy
Combine Academy continues to reload with talent from last year, and this year’s team certainly is fun to watch. A team that is mostly made up of guards, Combine Academy is able to flourish and play at a high pace this year with speed and shot-making ability. One player that we were eager to watch and see how he has developed was 2026 6’3 Yohance Connor, who was able to really flourish once again on the court this past weekend at the Carmel Tip-Off.
Connor had two very strong games in Matthews (NC), finishing with 16 points and three assists vs. Burlington Christian, and then followed that up with a 14-point, six rebound, and five-assist game vs. Winston Salem Christian. It was a very balanced showing from the 6’3 explosive guard, and one can see that he has continued to elevate and add more to his game.
When you talk about his game, the words “explosive” and “athletic” quickly come to mind, and that hasn’t changed one bit. Connor is at his best out in transition and attacking downhill, as he will finish at the rim with ease, put opponents on a poster, and has no issue embracing contact. He can change the game with his energy and explosive plays, but one could easily see that he has continued to add more to his game, becoming a more complete player, and showing just how effective in can be in a variety of roles. He looked better from outside, knocking down multiple threes, getting to his spots well, constantly moving without the ball and playing with a strong motor, and making those extra effort plays. But he also provides that same energy on the defensive end, showing that competitive nature.
It is easy to see why schools like Washington, East Carolina, Creighton, Louisville, LSU, Oklahoma State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Illinois, Wake Forest, Arizona State, VCU, and others have all offered. In speaking with the Combine program, schools like Oklahoma State, NC State, and Virginia Tech have been the schools that have been staying strong with the 2026 guard.
