Player: Kobe Edwards
Class: 2026
School: Greenfield
One of the top guards in the state of North Carolina, 2026 Kobe Edwards has been continuing the strong tradition at Greenfield in producing some impressive talent. He is averaging nearly 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists a game, as Greenfield has its eyes on another run at a title. Edwards has been one of the clear leaders and has proven to be a big-time talent with his scoring ability, ability to be a playmaker, length and speed, and overall impact on the court. And he continues to add more to his game.
Recently, it was announced that Edwards visited North Carolina when the Tar Heels took on Pittsburgh. He also took a visit to Virginia Tech and has more visits coming up, as he spoke with Phenom Hoops on the latest in his recruitment.
Phenom: How has the season been going overall in your eyes? What has been your mindset this season?
Edwards: My mindset all year long has been to just be an extension of Coach Salt on the floor and a leader in every way possible.
Phenom: What have you been wanting to focus on as far as improvement?
Edwards: I’ve been focusing on strength and conditioning.
Phenom: How was your visit to North Carolina the other week?
Edwards: The visit was good. All the coaches made us feel welcome. I mainly went for the game, so we really didn’t get to see too much. I was able to talk to the coaches after the game.
Phenom: What did they have to say?
Edwards: That they will be in touch and be out to watch me.
Phenom: You made other visits correct?
Edwards: Yes, to Virginia Tech.
Phenom: How was that? What did the staff have to say your way from there?
Edwards: Virginia Tech was cool also. We talked about a lot but what stood out the most was watching the head coach interact with his players.
Phenom: Do you have any other visits coming up?
Edwards: Yes, an official visit to Mississippi State soon but no set date.
Phenom: Who would you say has been strong with you in your recruitment?
Edwards: Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, and Appalachian State.
