The Phenom Freedom 828 Showcase was a tremendous event out west in North Carolina, bringing some strong names and teams to the forefront for Phenom Hoops. Walking away from the event, one player who absolutely impressed our scouts was 2026 6’5 Bradley Floyd with Kings Mountain.
Though it is early in the season, the sophomore is coming out swinging early this season, as he has elevated his game. On the season so far, he is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game, leading his team in several categories.
Our own Rick Lewis and Patrick O’Brien were on deck to watch him in action, and both had high reviews of his game.
“6’5 ’26 Bradley Floyd (Kings Mountain) has been terrific in the first half. 11 points + 7 assists. The lengthy yet smooth/fluid combo guard has an excellent feel for the game. Plays with pace + patience. Advanced skill set with such a calm approach to the game.” – Rick Lewis
“2026 Bradley Floyd checks off many boxes with his game, and still has a ton of upside left. High IQ, sees the floor well, is a playmaker with tremendous length, and is a fluid scorer as well. Versatile player on the court. #PhenomFreedom828 #PhenomHoops” – Patrick O’Brien
Floyd clearly showed that he checks off boxes that should make him a high priority at the next level for several programs; he can flourish as a playmaker on the court with tremendous size and versatility, while also be a presence on both ends of the court. We knew about his ability to be an effective scorer, finishing at the rim and over defenders, as well as a developing perimeter game. But he blew us away with his vision, passing, and court awareness, delivering impressive dimes all throughout the game. His game allows him to impact so much on the court and again, he is just a sophomore and still has room for growth. But from what we saw at the event, the future looks bright.
Right now, he holds offers from Charleston and High Point but his recruitment should only continue to rise in the coming years.
