Phenom: How did this summer go for you in your eyes? What were you hoping to show about your game and bring attention more to your development?
Sularski: This summer was a crucial period for me. I had the opportunity to showcase my ball-handling skills as a primary playmaker, not only with my high school team but also while representing Poland in the FIBA EuroBasket. My goal was to demonstrate that I’m more than just a traditional wing player. While I can play off the ball effectively, I wanted to highlight my ability to run the offense and build my skill set as a lead guard to expand my overall game and potential. These past few months have been an invaluable experience, allowing me to play through mistakes, learn from them, and continue growing into the player I want to become.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game?
Sularski: I’d describe my game as one that thrives on aggression and playmaking. I focus on collapsing defenses to create opportunities for my teammates to get easy baskets, and I think that’s one of my biggest strengths. I also excel at playing off both pick-and-rolls and DHOs (dribble handoffs), getting into quick actions to score for myself or react to how the defense shifts. I use these situations to manipulate defenders, often drawing two to the ball, which opens up opportunities for my teammates. On top of that, my ability to get my shot off from anywhere on the court is something I’m really confident in, and I believe it will eventually elevate me to an elite level of shot-making.
Phenom: You have two visits set up in October as of right now; Notre Dame and Indiana correct?
Sularski: Yes as of now and still finalizing a few more. Have quite of few schools coming to my open gym work outs over the next few weeks.
Phenom: Notre Dame on October 12. What kind of relationship have you been able to build with that program and what has stood out so far with them?
Sularski: My relationship with Notre Dame started late last year. Asst. Coach Mike Farrelly came out to see me in some open gyms, a tournament and now in the summer at my new high school. We have also spoken quite often on the phone and via text. Looking forward to the visit to finally meet Coach Shrewsberry and the rest of the coaching staff in person. There is a lot I like about the program but will get to learn more during the visit and watching their practice.
Phenom: What about Indiana on October 14? What kind of relationship have you been able to build with that program and what has stood out so far with them?
Sularski: The Indiana visit is October 14th and looking forward to watching a full practice, sitting down with all the coaching staff, and learning more about what their expectations are of me for their program.
Phenom: What schools will be coming or showing interest your way?
Sularski: Tennessee will be in this week at Lemont and Michigan State, Missouri, Illinois, Stanford, Louisville, South Carolina, Marquette, BYU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Alabama and others will be in over the next few weeks.
Phenom: Any other schools you hope to visit down the road?
Sularski: Last Fall and this past Spring was very busy with visits, so hoping to get out to a few schools that I haven’t been to yet in the next few weeks. Also, I would definitely like to go back to others that I have already visited when they start playing games just to see how I would fit into their systems.
