The Phenom PG Nationals has come and gone, but we are still highlighting players that captured our eyes as well as talking about the latest going on with them. One of the top prospects that we saw at the event was 2026 6’5 Cedric Haynes Jr. with TD Prep, as he had an incredible overall event.

Haynes finished the event averaging 34ppg, 10rpg, 4.3apg, and 2.7spg in leading his team and putting on a show in front of national scouts. Patrick O’Brien had this to say about his game after viewing him throughout the event: “I really liked his game, especially with his blend of strength, his size at 6’5, and his comfort level in getting to his spots. A high IQ prospect who flourished with the ball in his hands, Haynes did a great job in picking his spots, showing his ability to hit mid-range jumpers, hurt opponents from deep, and use that strength to force the action and attack, embracing contact and finishing.”

He looked to be such a strong force on the court offensively, creating and getting where he wanted. Haynes has a strong frame that allows him to embrace contact,t but what impressed is his decision-making along with his overall feel/pace. He picked his spots to operate, created off the bounce, and proved to be a three-level scorer with tremendous athleticism. And again, his stats back that up with his overall impact on the court. With his size, he can play/guard multiple positions, rebounds well at his position, and provides an impact on both ends of the court.

Right now, Haynes has reported offers from Ole Miss, Georgia State, and Cal State Bakersfield. But that list should drastically change over the summer with what we saw. In talking with Haynes, he mentioned that schools like Tulsa, West Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati, and a few others have been showing interest his way.

And with what we see, those interests should turn into offers sooner rather than later.
