It may be early but there is a young prospect that you may want to stick in the back of your mind for down the road, as 6’3 Kody Frey has some intrigue with his early development. This is a young man that has been putting in the work, working out in the morning, and getting in reps. Early on, Frey is one that has terrific range on his shot and is a long prospect.
When we spoke with his father, Kevin Frey, who played his college career at Xavier from 1998-2002 and then played overseas, he had this to say about his son’s game early on.
“Smooth handles with court vision. High basketball IQ and sees the game extremely well. Plays the game to win. He can knock down multiple threes from deep.”
Already having tremendous size, what makes him interesting and one to keep an eye on is that he has the potential to grow even more. His father stands at 6’8 and he could end up being around that size as well. Add that on top of his shot-making early on and guard skills, along with the potential to be a long prospect, he has certainly captured some attention.
It’s still early but Frey is going to be one on our watch list for the Class of 2025.
