The future in South Carolina is looking bright, as you will be hearing about several rising prospects from the state. One player that you will want to watch out for is 2025 6’5 Tristan Thompson. He has been a standout on multiple occasions with Phenom Hoops and he just earned his first offer. We spoke to him about his first offer.

What Has Been Said:

'Thompson was one that we saw just a few weeks back but now we got a chance to watch him with his high school team.  And the intrigue is still there; he holds good size, is fluid on the floor, active from multiple levels, finishes well around the basket, but can also step out a little with his game.  Love his activity around the basket on both ends, as he should only continue to develop.'

'Thompson is another young prospect that you will want to get to know and monitor. Thompson already has the size that intrigues you and it seems that he is starting to expand his game. As a young prospect, it looks more like he operated down low but he showed more of his mid-range game while also being active on the boards as well very athletic for his age.'

'Thompson is a solid rebounder, arguably the best on this roster, with good hands and balance. I was impressed with the way he secures boards with both hands and is difficult to rip once the ball is in his grasps. He'll likely be responsible for a number of putbacks throughout his basketball career.'

Earning First Offer:

Thompson earned his first offer as a young prospect, with his first coming from Francis Marion University.

'It feels extremely good to have my first one,' Thompson told Phenom Hoops.

He learned about the offer when the assistant coach come to his team's workout and was able to watch the 6'5 prospect in action.  They liked how he was able to shoot the ball, how active he was on both sides of the floor, and his ability to impact the boards.

Thompson also heard interest from Coker early on.
