New Hanover sits undefeated on the season and is clearly one of the top teams in the state, as they have high hopes of taking home a title this season. They are led by a dynamic duo of 2025 Rodmik Allen and 2025 Zeus Batts, as they both bring offensive and defensive presences to the court as clear leaders. Which is why college programs should be looking hard their way. Let’s break each player’s game.
2025 Rodmik Allen
Reviewing several game films from this past season, Allen consistently impressed with his impact on the court and what he provides to his teammates/team. He is averaging 17.4ppg, 4.3rpg, 5.0apg, and 2.8spg, showcasing not only his playmaking ability, his scoring impact, and his presence on the defensive end. Allen is one of the quickest guards I’ve seen play this year, blowing by opponents with ease and a quick first step, and using that speed to his advantage on both offensively and defensively. His ability to create off the dribble, score at the rim, and showcase his improved shot-making ability, Allen could be a sneaky prospect for a college program to secure for their future.
What Has Been Said:
“Overall, I enjoyed watching this New Hanover team and how they were able to operate on both sides of the ball. Allen was the leader on the court and made some impressive plays, along with his teammate 2025 Zeus Batts. Allen brings tremendous speed, getting by defenders, being a playmaker out in the open floor, finding ways to get paint touches and finishing, but also can score in a variety of ways. Love his energy on the floor and impressed big time at the event.â€
“While Rodmik Allen has been their go-to guy this season, their entire starting five can be their best player on any given night. Allen has been electric in every facet this year, improving his efficiency and decision-making since last year and establishing himself as one of the best guards in the region. He’s dynamic, uber-confident, and virtually impossible to contain off the bounce. He’s averaging 17.7p, 4.7r, 5.5a, & 2.9s per game with shooting splits of 47/35/66.â€
2025 Zeus Batts
Batts, the other guard helping lead the charge with Allen, is one of the top two-way guards in the state, as he averages 7.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.5apg, and leads the team with 3.0spg. When talking to Coach Angel, he mentioned that Batts is the one who guards the opponent’s best player and consistently creates a ton of havoc. He is so strongly built; he can make plays defensively and then turn that around to attack and be physical offensively. Batts does the dirty work for sure and is part of a guard tandem that is making New Hanover extremely difficult on the court.
What Has Been Said:
“His backcourt partner, 5’11†Jr. Zeus Batts, has proven himself as one of the best perimeter defenders in the region as he’s able to consistently make high-level guards uncomfortable with his physicality and motor. He’s also quite the playmaker when he needs to be.â€
“2025 Zeus Batts is another dynamic guard who put on a show and brought a balanced attack to the court, averaging 8.5 points per game. He and Allen were a strong duo throughout the summer and have only continued that attack this season.â€
