A player here in North Carolina, 2025 6’6 Malachi Simpson has quickly seen his game elevate over the last year or so.  It was just over a year ago when Simpson really made his mark on the Phenom Hoops platform and did so once again this year at the Phenom Summer Showcase.  After an incredible sophomore season, Simpson has only continued to thrive during the summer, and he showed this past weekend why he should be a target for schools.  Simpson is one that has only added more levels to his game; whether he was showcasing his athleticism, making plays off the bounce, making strong plays out in transition, creating for himself, or making a presence both offensively and defensively, he is one that has a lot of factors in his game that you have to like.  And there is still room for development, which makes him even more dangerous.  He showed that this weekend once again at the Phenom Summer Showcase, and expect him to be a player of interest for many in the coming months.

What Was Said this Weekend:

“2025 Malachi Simpson (WNC Elite) has been making some tough plays on both sides. Ton of athleticism, but also showing how effective he can be off the bounce and knocking down shots.”

“6’6 ‘25 Malachi Simpson (WNC Elite) is showcasing a ton of athletic ability. Playing above rim on dunks, blocks, and rebounds. Wreaking havoc in transition. Creating shots and jumping into passing lanes here. Still possesses a ton of potential.”

“It was good to see Simpson back in action on the Phenom Hoops platform, and he didn’t disappoint with his showing. Simpson has a lot of intrigue with his game at his 6’5 frame, his athleticism, his ability to make plays on both sides of the floor, and his ability to create and knock down shots.  He gives you those flashes in his game that will certainly excite you, but overall, he can be a strong weapon with his overall game.”
