Ranked as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports, coming in at No. 72 overall nationally

We had a memorable showing at the Phenom George Lynch Invitational the other weekend, as the talent ran deep on both the boys’ and girls’ side.  One team that we were excited to watch was 2025 5’10 Kate Sears from Watauga, a proven talent here in the state of North Carolina and a nationally recognized prospect.  She proved that once again in a big way at the event, helping lead her team in a big way.

After the event, we had this to say about her game:

“2025 Kate Sears has been in complete control of the game. Smart, high IQ guard. Plays the game at her own pace. Creating paint touches. Has the ability to create for herself & teammates. Finishes well through contact.”

“Easy to see why 5’9 ‘25 Kate Sears (Watauga) is such a highly regarded prospect. Brilliant passer who touches the paint legitimately whenever she wants and has complete control of the game. Never seems to get tired or make the wrong decision. Natural leader.”

When you talk about he game, you can easily see the talent and impact she brings to the table. She is not only an excellent playmaker for herself but a natural scorer as well on the court.  Sears does a great job in getting paint touches, attacking and putting pressure on the defense, and showing to be a complete player on the court inside and out. She has such a gift in her court awareness and making others better around her, as she naturally understands how to manage and control the game. Sears displays leadership abilities and that should only continue to shine at the next level at Virginia Tech.  It was easy to see with her play on the big stage why she is regarded as one of the top point guards in the country, and she should be in for another memorable season this year.
