Greensboro Day brings depth and talent to the court but for the Bengals to reach their ultimate goal, they will need the presence of veterans to step up and help lead the charge. 2025 Jaden Palmore will be one of those guys, as the senior guard will be a key piece to this year’s team. His steadiness, his presence, and his playmaking ability will all come into play this year, as he showed recently at the NC Top 80.
NC Top 80 Evaluation:
“He’s a smart, steady floor general who dictates offensive action, gets others involved, and picks his spots as a scorer. Palmore handles the ball with care and displays patience as a playmaker. He touches the paint and finishes or sets up others yet can also knock down perimeter jumpers at a solid clip. Palmore utilizes his quickness well to keep opponents in front and contain his assignment defensively. Coach Paris on Palmore: “Jaden is a good left-handed shooter. He has the ability to extend the defense with his catch-and-shoot presence. Attacks and reads closeouts well. Good finisher at the rim.” Palmore made a quality impact during his time at camp and should be destined for a strong senior season with Greensboro Day School.”
Palmore’s patience and feel in helping lead the offense will be key this season for Greensboro Day to secure its ultimate goal. We spoke to him about how prepared he is for the upcoming season and his mentality heading into the season.
Phenom: What is your excitement about this upcoming season and being a key leader for this year’s team?
Palmore: What’s most exciting about this opportunity is being able to set the tone and inspire the team, I believe me bringing my experience will help the younger guys grow and build a strong team. All of the new pieces that we have added will help us a lot, adding more size and more depth at the guard spot. The way practice has been going we’ve all been competing hard and listening to our coaches. As we fell short in double OT last year in the semifinals, we are looking forward to getting back to the top.
Phenom: How have you elevated your game this year and worked on?
Palmore: I’ve been a true point guard my whole life and I always needed to work on shooting and now that I can shoot at a consistent rate, I work on shooting off the bounce, off screens, off handoffs. I feel as if I could be a 3-level scorer. My game would be even more complete because I can pass, handle, and rebound well. After practice, I always stay and shoot to keep my jump shot consistent.
Phenom: How have things recruiting-wise been going?
Palmore: It’s been good recently I’ve been offered by Erskine and I’m in contact with Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, Anderson, Roanoke, and Lynchburg.
