The class of 2025 in North Carolina is shaping up quite nicely early on and 2025 Jackson Keith is going to be a name you hear more and more in the coming years if you haven’t done so already. Keith is coming off a strong freshman campaign at Southern Durham and is looking to make even BIGGER noise this year in leading the charge.
And from what we have seen this summer, he is fully capable of doing just that. We recently spoke to Keith about his thoughts about the upcoming season and a little bit more of the latest in his recruitment. See what he had to say.
Phenom: When speaking with you, you mentioned how you were excited about this upcoming season and getting a chance to show more? Why is that and what are you hoping to show more of with your game?
Keith: This upcoming season I’m excited to show my improvement by creating my own shot on the perimeter, with my mix of size, athleticism, and shot-making ability, it should set me up to have a breakout year. This year, I’d like to show that I can shoot off the dribble from college-level range and even create space with my improved ball handling. Just can’t wait to show everyone that I can be a high-level player night in and night out.
Phenom: How do you think you have improved as a player over the last year?
Keith: The main way I have improved as a player would have been advancing the simplicity of my game, playing at my own speed, and also my confidence in the mental game has improved. Just being confident enough to take some of the shots I make consistently helped a lot, although it still is a work in progress.
Phenom: How has the team looked early on in your eyes?
Keith: We can compete! We have dawgs all-around that aren’t afraid to do the little things to win. Everyone on our team has grown tremendously and I hope my platform will give them outlets to showcase their talent too.
Recruitment Update:
Keith already holds multiple offers and more should be coming his way, as his recruitment has stayed strong so far. He holds offers from SMU, Virginia Tech, George Mason, Old Dominion, College of Charleston, Illinois, Texas A&M, Radford, and NC A&T so far, but others are coming his way.
“Latest in my recruitment, I’ve heard recently from Wake Forest, looking to get on campus, Tennessee and I can’t wait to get down on campus, and of course, Virginia has been coming down for workouts. Then, Illinois has always expressed much interest, and NC State. Overall, I love all the schools who have recruited me so far and I thank them all for believing in me.”
Keith just finished up his visit to Virginia and he will be taking a visit to Tennessee on September 24th, and he will be making visits to Wake Forest and Illinois later on. He also is trying to get down to Texas A&M as well.
