Out in Kentucky at Lloyd Memorial HS, 2025 6'8 EJ Walker has certainly been the talk throughout the and is a player that schools from around the region are coming to check out more.  Walker has been looking to lead his team and get things rolling down the stretch, but his recruitment has only continued to rise with several big schools jumping on board with offers already.

Phenom checked in with the sophomore prospect to see how the season has been going in his eyes, what has been going on with his recruitment, talk about some of his latest visits, and what other schools he may be heading to down the road.

See what he had to say.

Phenom: How has everything been going this season so far for you and your team in your eyes'
Walker: So far going ok, we have been playing up and down. We are starting to get guys back from injury, so we just aren't clicking yet.  I have been playing really well so far this season.

Phenom: What has been your role with this team and what have you been wanting to show more with your game on the floor'
Walker: My role with this team is to be our best player; defending, rebounding, and scoring. I want to show that I can score from all three levels.

Recruitment Update:

Phenom: You hold some strong offers early on. Who all has officially offered you and who has been strong with you in your eyes early on'
Walker: I hold offers from Youngstown State, Ohio University, Northern Kentucky, Duquesne, Toledo, Xavier, Dayton, Purdue, Minnesota, West Virginia, and Stony Brook.  As far as interests, Indiana, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, Virginia, LSU, Louisville, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, and Illinois have all shown interest.

Phenom: Made a few visits as of late. One was to Purdue. What stood out there and what did you learn about the program'
Walker: The Purdue visit was great. I have been there three times. The coaching staff is amazing, and I fit their style of play. They have great academics and support if I need help.

Phenom: Also saw that you went to Louisville. What made you want to check out that program'
Walker: Yeah, they invited us to their midnight madness. They are an in-state school with great tradition.  Kenny Payne, Nolan Smith, and Danny Manning are great staff, so I wanted to start a relationship.

Phenom: Any other schools you have visited or want to visit'
Walker: I have visited West Virginia and I'm going back on January 21st.  I've visited Dayton and I go back on February 10th. Also been to Indiana three times, Xavier twice, Cincinnati twice, and Michigan State twice.

Phenom: Saw that the Wisconsin staff stopped by recently'
Walker: Yes, they came to watch me work out in September. Then they came to watch me play recently. I'm going to visit them and Minnesota for the first time in the spring.

Phenom: Any other programs come by recently'
Walker: No new schools from the ones that are on the list.
