2025 Caitlyn Jones has been playing at a high level this summer with Boo Williams, as the North Carolina prospect from Rolesville HS has been locked in. Jones has been staying strong and focused on developing her game, as she spoke with Lady Phenom Hoops about her summer. She also has added another offer to her list, as Penn State is the newest offer.
Here is what she had to say about what has been going on this summer, her thoughts on her newest offer, and who else has been showing interest her way,
Lady Phenom: How has everything been going for you and your team'
Jones: Everything has been going well. We are enjoying this AAU season, trying to have fun, and preparing for my junior year.
Lady Phenom: What was this past high school season like for you and how did you grow as a player'
Jones: It was great! We made a lot of first-time history at our high school. I grew a lot mentally on and off the court. I made sure to focus on being a good leader and doing what I needed to do as an individual to be a good teammate. A lot comes with being a captain and point guard, so I made sure to always work hard. It was a continuous process and always different levels. I'm enjoying the process.
Lady Phenom: How have you taken what you learned this past season and implemented it into your game'
Jones: Just making sure I stay focused, continuing to work hard. Always make sure to work on ways that I can add to my game and leadership, so I'm always growing. My mental and physical is important. That is what helps me on the court.
Lady Phenom: How would you best describe your game'
Jones: I'm a skillful, aggressive high-leveled IQ guard who likes to play at a fast pace. I can do it all from ball handling, rebounding, steals, and making sure my team is involved. I can shoot and I enjoy body contact while finishing at the rim. My signature on the court is my deadly floater and my defense. My quickness always helps me get where I need to be at any given time. I always try to make the right play in a game.
Lady Phenom: Recruitment has gone well. Just received an offer from Penn State. Thoughts on that program'
Jones: Yes it has. Penn State is a Power-5 school. I'm blessed and humbled. The coaches are great and I'm looking forward to building a relationship.
Lady Phenom: What did they have to say when they offered'
Jones: They said a lot of good things about me as an overall player. They are excited to build a relationship with me, not just offer and forget about me.
Lady Phenom: What have the other schools been saying and who has been strong with you'
Jones: The ones who have offered me, I talk to frequently; just building relationships. They come to support my high school/AAU games. I have also been talking with several schools who are interested. Rhode Island has been the strongest.
Lady Phenom: What other schools have shown interest'
Jones: Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, Charlotte, Memphis, North Carolina A&T, and ETSU.
