Summer ball is here, and names will be popping up more and more as the months go on. But one player made some early waves with his play to start the travel ball season, as 2025 6’11 Eric Reibe from New World was able to earn his first three offers.
George Washington, Virginia Tech, and Charleston all offered the big man from Maryland, but more eyes have been on his game. We spoke with the rising big to learn more about the last few months, the start of his season and his game, and his thoughts on his recruitment early on.
Phenom: How did this past high school season go for you overall' What did you want to show more about your game'
Reibe: Because I enrolled into Bullis in late January, I didn’t play much this winter high school season. I will play a lot with New World on the Adidas Circuit this spring/summer and with Bullis in June for the NCAA Live periods. I want to show that I can rebound, block shots, score in the post, and be a force in the paint like a traditional big man. But I also can stretch the floor from the 3-point line and put the ball on the floor to score like a wing. I also want to show my high basketball IQ and passion for the game.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game overall'
Reibe: I’m a 6’11 big with good ball handles, 3-point shooting, strong in rebounding and blocking, pick and pop as well as pick and roll, and good at attacking the basket from the outside.
Phenom: What is your excitement about the early offers from George Washington, Charleston, and Virginia Tech'
Reibe: I am excited because my hard work is paying off. I am also humbled by the offers but know there is so much more work to do.
Phenom: Did any offer catch your attention' And would any of those schools be ones you would be interested in visiting or learning more about'
Reibe: The Virginia Tech offer definitely was a surprise and it was my first P-5 offer. I went on an unofficial visit there last August. It is early and there is a lot of basketball to be played this spring/summer. My family and I are just gathering information and getting to know coaches right now.
Phenom: Have any other schools been showing interest that you know of'
Reibe: I have interests from Purdue, Virginia, Maryland, and some others.
