To start the season, Phenom Hoops holds their annual Phenom Jamboree Bash and it brought in a young talent in 2024 Klairus Amir, who was then with Legacy Community Academy. Fast-forward to today, you now have a 2024 6'6 prospect from Osborne High School that is making some early news in the recruiting world.

Amir has been playing in the US for the last two years after being in Australia, where his dad use to play.  Growing up in Australia, he certainly had the background to help him learn the game and has continued to develop his game at the national level.

Now, he is making his mark early in America and coaches are taking noticed.  He recently showcased his game with Team Dickerson and has a solid weekend, which ultimately earned him an offer from Xavier.

We spoke to him recently to learn more about his game and his thoughts about the offer from Xavier.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Amir: I believe my skills are shooting from multiple levels, a quick release, athleticism, blocking shots, and rebounding.  I have been told and believe I possess high basketball IQ, especially at 15 years old and my defense has greatly improved playing varsity vs. one of Atlanta's toughest and top class 6A Region 6.

Phenom: What has it been like early on playing with Team Dickerson'
Amir: Team Dickerson has helped in many ways like allowing me to have continuous opportunities to handle the ball and show my playmaking abilities.  They allow me to play my natural game as SG and have helped me to elevate my game through a lot of valuable experiences, encouragement, and feedback.  Coach Demond believes in my true potential that gives me the confidence to play and learn from mistakes too.

Phenom: You earned an early offer from Xavier. What are your thoughts on that program'
Amir: My family and I are very excited about the offer from such a great basketball and educational school like Xavier.  I am grateful to the coaches at Xavier for believing in me.  There is a long-standing relationship and trust between Team Dickerson's coach and Xavier with their recruitment of players like Dwon Odom and Kaiser Gates.  They are typically drawn to strong defensive players that can block shots and rebound, which is my style of game.

Phenom: Who else have you been hearing from'
Amir: Team Dickerson Coach Demond is in conversations with multiple schools currently.  Which is very exciting but humbling at the same time.
