Phenom Hoops continues to bring you more articles surrounding the recruitment of players around the country.  Patrick O'Brien recently reached out to 2024 6'2 Khalil Green, a young prospect that is quickly catching the attention of high-major programs, as it is just the start of his recruitment.  He recently grabbed offers from Auburn and Xavier, as he spoke about receiving his first offers and his thoughts on the program.

Q&A:

Phenom: How did this past season go for you at Stratford, finishing with 19 wins. How was it playing at the high school level as a freshman'
Green: Yes sir, the year prior I got to watch them and see basically where I could come in and help. I also practice with them all my 8th grade and played JV, so I knew all the guys and the chemistry was there. But playing varsity was different, the pace was much faster than JV my 8th grad year. A lot of guys are bigger, faster, stronger than they were. But we still made a good run and hope to make a state championship run next year.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Green: Oh, this is easy. I do whatever I can to win. I can facilitate if I need to, score whenever I want to, defend, whatever.  I'm just an all-around dog on the court.

Phenom: It has to be exciting to get those early offers from some big-time schools.  What is your excitement around that'
Green: I'm super excited.  I was so shocked when I got the calls that I didn't believe it at first.  I thank my coaches the most, Coach Demond and Coach Bobby. I just try to stay as humble as I can because what God gives, he can also take away.

Phenom: How did you hear about the offers'  And what did you hear that they liked about your game early on'
Green: I got a phone call from Coach Hayes at Xavier and Coach Bowman at Auburn.  They said they liked what they had seen and heard about me and that they wanted to be the first to take a chance on me.  I couldn't remember exactly what they said because I was too happy at the time.

Phenom: Certainly can understand that. What do you know about those two programs early on'
Green: They both have a good history with guards that have gone to the next level and obviously, that is what I want to do. I feel like I'd fit in with both programs at point guard because I have a similar play style to both Dwon Odom at Xavier and Sharife Cooper at Auburn in a way, which is why they gave me an offer. I can bring a lot to the table.

Phenom: Do you know what other schools are showing interest your way'
Green: Cincinnati and a few other schools.
