2024 6’6 Colin White is coming off a tremendous summer with Indiana Elite and has proven to be one of the premier talents around the country. So many schools came his way this summer, as he racked in some impressive offers and recently, he announced his Top-5 schools. The Ohio native prospect announced Northwestern, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Butler, and TCU all made his final five. Check out what he had to say about each.
TCU: “They are a newer relationship, but it has been great. Coach Dixon and Coach Broussard are great, and their style of play is what really stands out to me. They have been in the tournament regularly and they know how to win. They compare me to Desmond Bane and I think that we play a similar way and he thrived in their system, so I think maybe I could as well.”
Northwestern: “Their staff has been awesome. Coach Battle and Coach Collins are very involved in my recruitment. I think their play style really fits my game and the culture that they are building is fantastic. They just got to the tournament last year, so I think their program is on the rise.”
Butler: “Their staff is great; Coach Matta and Coach Joseph are great and the way they play is really intriguing. They play an NBA style of offense and I think it really suits my game well. I love the way Coach Matta coaches and I think they really like my game and how I play. They have a beautiful campus and their arena is historic.”
Cincinnati: “Cincinnati was one of the first high majors to offer me. The things Coach Miller is doing over there are fantastic. He is really changing the culture and bringing a good vibe to Cincinnati that I really like. The facilities there are top notch and they just switched to the Big 12 and Jordan Brand, so that is also intriguing. Their campus is beautiful, and it is close to home. Their style of play is great, and I like the way they really strap down and play defense.”
Ohio State: “I have been talking to Ohio State for a year or two now, so I have a great relationship with them. Coach Diebler and Coach Holtmann are great and the way they play is awesome. They have a great track record of developing guards and sending them to the next level. Their culture is great, and I love their guys and how they carry themselves. Aside from last year, Coach Holtmann has been in the tournament every year there. So they know how to win and compete at a high level.”
White recently made a visit to Northwestern and has also visited Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Butler in the past. As of right now, he has no other visits scheduled and no timeframe of when he may ultimately decide.
