College coaches and programs are looking hard and focusing on players in the Class of 2024, and we at Phenom Hoops certainly want to shine some light on players to look out for.  One player down in South Carolina that I believe should have the attention of college programs is 2024 6’5 Mason Mitchell from Northwestern high school.

Why'

It truly is his overall impact on the court, what he provides to his team, and what he does consistently out on the court. Mitchell has a long frame at 6’5 which allows him to be a valuable piece in a variety of ways. He knows how to be a scoring impact from a variety of levels, showing he can step out and show his range, or use his athleticism and frame to finish at the rim or over defenders. But he also competes defensively very well, likes to make his impact felt on the boards, and is an ultimate team-first type of guy that gets others involved. Mitchell consistently fills up the stat sheet, he just seems to be going a bit under the radar. It is time to recognize and take notice though.

What Has Been Said:

“I’ve said it before and will continue to say it… Mitchell is simply one of those tremendous utility guys that gets the job done and does what is needed. Has been posting double-doubles all summer long, Mitchell can elevate and be a versatile scorer but also just fills up the stat sheet and is strong on the boards.  Start taking notice for sure more!”

“Once again, Mitchell finds his name on our list and with what we saw with Northwestern, he continues to do so much for his team.  Whether it is his versatility, his ability to score inside and out, showcase his athleticism, impact the game on the boards, and bring a presence defensively, Mitchell just does a bit of everything, and he can provide the same for a college program.”
