2023 Silas Demary Jr. has been one of the premier guards in the state of North Carolina, leading Liberty Heights to a tremendous season and now helping lead the way once again for Team Curry. We spoke with Demary to check in on all the latest, seeing how this past season and summer has been going, his excitement about joining Combine Academy, and the latest in his recruitment.

The junior guard has three officials set up so far, with another possibly coming as well. But he has also been adding a few new interests his way as well. See what he had to say in our latest 1-on-1 interview with Silas Demary Jr.

Phenom: How has everything been going with Team Curry this summer'
Demary: Everything has been going well. I feel like we are getting better every tournament.

Phenom: What has been your focus with this team and with your game'
Demary: The focus has just been leading my guys to championships, especially for UAA Finals, and to win it again.

Phenom: How was it this past season with Coach Wright and at Liberty Heights' What did it show you and what did you learn from that experience'
Demary: This past year was great. Coach Mike really challenged me this year and it helped me become a better player. It showed me how college would be tough, coaching with love, and I learned how to play with guys just as good as myself.

Phenom: What is your excitement about joining him at Combine Academy next year'
Demary: My excitement is just getting all those big-time games and us really growing more as a powerhouse.

Phenom: How has recruitment been going these days'  What has been the latest or who have you been hearing from the most'
Demary: Really good.  I’ve set up some official visits to St. John’s, VCU, and Providence. I mostly hear from those and Loyola-Chicago the most.  I also plan on taking an official to Loyola, just don’t know if it will be in June.

Phenom: When are you making those first visits'
Demary: I visit St. John’s next Monday through Wednesday, and Providence and VCU a little later this month; I don’t have those exact dates yet though.

Phenom: What have hose schools been saying your way in what they like about your game'
Demary: Really, all of them say they love how I can fit their playing style; a big point guard that can score, dish it out, and get after it on both sides of the ball.  And the fact that I’m a winner.

Phenom: What are your initial thoughts on those schools'
Demary: Providence – Just the coaches really, talking to them all the time and who they are prioritizing me, and they are really down-to-earth guys. Coach Cooley is a winner. VCU – They were the first school that really started recruiting me hard and that relationship has really grown a lot from there. St. John’s – When I got up there on a last-minute visit, I just fell in love with their campus and the view, and on top of that, just talking to Coach Anderson and Cleveland, they are good guys.

Phenom: Any other programs showing interest your way but have yet to offer'
Demary: Virginia, SMU, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Lehigh.

Phenom: Have any timeframe for when you may want to decide or narrow down'
Demary: As of now, I haven’t after July Live Periods. I will definitely start to consider when I want to.
