Having the Fall League this season has opened eyes on players that could be in for a big year. One of those players that our staff recently viewed was Apex Friendship’s 2023 6’5 Moustapha Diop and it seems that we weren’t the only ones impressed, as he earned his first offer after his play this weekend.

Here is what we have recently said about Diop at the Fall League:

“6’5 ’23 Moustapha Diop (Patriot Elite) should be a focal point for this group. Long, strong, and able to consistently finish around the basket. Competes with intensity.”

“Expect 6’5 2023 Moustapha Diop to have a big season at Apex Friendship. Strong, athletic guard who gets downhill & finishes strong at the rim. Also capable of knocking down shots off the catch from 3.”

After his play, he announced that he hard earned his first offer from William Peace, one that he has been working hard for and is excited about the opportunity.

Earning First Offer:

“It felt like a weight was lifted up off of my shoulders because getting that first one was something that I’ve been working towards for so long,” Diop told Phenom Hoops.  Diop was able to visit the campus, getting a chance to see more of the program overall and what they had to offer, not only on the basketball side but overall as a school.

The coaching staff at William Peace have been in contact with Diop for some time now, since the summer, and have been consistent for some time now. “I was already comfortable being around them and the team,” Diop said. “Coach Shields and Coach Hinton really put a big emphasis on the culture at William Peace and what it means to be a Pacer.”

As far as other interests he has received, Diop has heard from Army, Concord, Randolph, Ferrum, Lincoln Memorial, Guilford, and Elizabeth City State.
