If you remember back in January, Phenom Hoops spoke to a rising prospect in the 2023 class who was racking in high-major offers.  2023 6'8 Keanu Dawes had a strong junior season and summer, as he was really catching on with college programs.  You can read about it all right here: Click Here

Well, on Wednesday, he announced his Final 6 schools as Oklahoma State, Rice, Utah, Texas A&M, BYU, and Texas all made his list.  He broke down his thoughts and relationship with each school/coach, and why they made his list.  He also discusses his commitment timeframe.

Oklahoma State: 'Coach Mike and Coach Rencher both seem like great people on and off the floor and that really means something. Their playstyle also really fits me.'

Rice: 'Coach Pera was the first coach to reach out to me, so we have built a great relationship over time, and they have a real plan for me if I went there.'

Utah: 'That is home for me, so it would be pretty cool to go back there and accomplish my goals with hometown support.'

Texas A&M: 'I feel like Coach Williams will help bring certain things out of me just by the way he coaches and he is really big on details, so we have similar tendencies there.'

BYU: 'Coach Pope just has great energy around him, so I feel like his players love to be there and want to play for him because of that.'

Texas: 'They have a great environment and vibes throughout their whole staff and I feel like those things make people want to really play there.'

Timeframe and visits:

'I don't have a timeframe of when I want to commit, just after I take all my visits and yet I don't have any exact dates.'
