Player: James McCreary
Class: 2023
Height: 6'0
AAU: NC Spartans

High School Stats: 19.1 points per game/ 6.1 rebounds/ 2.4 steals at North Surry

McCreary is a player that has been going a little under the radar in the state of North Carolina but is one that should be catching a few more eyes with what he provides on the court.  The 6'0 guard from North Surry has produced time after time, really showing how he can be an effective scorer.  On several occasions, he has shown that he can fill it up and do it quickly, whether it has been in high school or AAU ball.  McCreary scores from multiple levels, whether it is from outside behind the arc, his pull-up game, or getting out in transition to score. He runs the floor, looks for his shot, and plays with a scrappy feel to his game.

McCreary is one that could help a program at the next level and should be one to look at more as the summer comes to an end.

What Has Been Said:

'The Spartans have multiple guys who are capable of taking over a game, and McCreary certainly showcased dominance today. Though somewhat unorthodox, he's a really polished scorer who can effortlessly fill it up but doesn't require a ton of touches to do so. McCreary is a knockdown three-point shooter with a lethal midrange pull-up and the ability to consistently finish through contact. He's a willing passer, engaged defender, and tough overall player who consistently outworks others.'

'2023 James McCreary (NC Spartans): McCreary is one that has been known to fill it up on the floor at times. He has a nice burst to his game, can really get downhill and get into the paint to score while also getting out and running to his spots, showing off his quick release and ability to score from three. He had a great Game 2 on Day 2.'
