We recently spoke with one of their players in 2022 Jack Seidler, who is a 6’5 wing that holds an offer from Drake, and more could be coming. Check out the latest with him.
Phenom: Hello Jack, first wanted to ask you how everything has been going with Team Final this year' You all have been playing really well so far.
Seidler: Playing for Team Final has been awesome so far. The coaching staff has been nothing but helpful and playing and practicing against the top competition has helped my game a lot.
Phenom: What has been your focus for this summer and your game'
Seidler: This summer, I’m focused on taking my game to the next level. I’ve been constantly working hard to get better and all. I’m also focused on getting to school I will fit best with and helping Team Final win a Peach Jam Championship.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court'
Seidler: I would say I’m a guy who can shoot the ball very well from the perimeter and would also say that I give it everything I got every time I’m on the floor. If there is a loose rebound or a 50/50 ball and I’m there, it’s going to be mine.
Phenom: What steps have you made with your game this high school season at Marlboro' You all made a nice run in the playoffs as well, what was that like for you'
Seidler: This season was rough to start because we were shut down due to COVID and didn’t get to practice much before the season. However, I really felt that this season helped me grow into more of a leader and a better teammate. Especially down the stretch, we all had to come together and leadership was important. The run was really nice, we played our best basketball at the end of the season and it was unfortunate how it ended with a buzzer-beater loss for the second-straight season but we will just come back stronger next year.
Phenom: How has your recruitment been going overall for you'
Seider: Recruitment has been going well, obviously a little frustrating due to the dead period and not being allowed to visit schools and be seen by coaches but I have one offer right now and I am in talks with several other schools.
Phenom: You hold an offer from Drake. What has that relationship been like and who has been your main recruiter there'
Seidler: My relationship with them has been pretty strong. I’m being recruited by Coach Matt Gatens and plan to take a visit there when I’m allowed.
Phenom: What have they been communicating with you lately and what stands out about that program in your eyes'
Seidler: We really just talk basketball. It really looks like they are building something special there. They’ve been a great team the last couple of years and made the tournament this past year, which is something I’ve always wanted to be a part of.
Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest your way'
Seidler: Other schools I’ve talked to are Brown, Holy Cross, Air Force, American, Georgia Southern, Lehigh, Manhattan, Columbia, Princeton, Robert Morris, USCSB, and NJIT.
Phenom: In general, what have they been saying your way'
Seidler: Mostly just checking in, asking about how my family and I are doing and basketball life is, and telling me some background about their school.
Phenom: Have any visits you would like to take other than Drake'
Seidler: Yeah, definitely have a couple in mind that I’d like to visit.
