Out in Kings Mountain high school, 2022 Isaiah Tate has been attracting the eyes of many and he hopes that the success continues to come his way. This summer could be a big one for the North Carolina guard playing for PSB Elite 16u this season.
This past high school season, Tate saw himself take more of a leadership role on the court with his ability to facilitate, getting his teammates involved, and scoring against a lot of double teams. He is hoping to show different parts of his game, scoring on all three levels but also getting after it on the defensive end. He hopes to do the same for PSB Elite.
However, things seem to be heading in the right direction as Tate earned his first offer from USC-Upstate not long ago.
“It was so exciting and I’m very thankful,” Tate told Phenom Hoops. “They said a lot of great things and they said they have been following me since my freshman year and they would love for me to be part of their team.”
USC-Upstate was the first to offer Tate but schools like Texas A&M, VCU, Georgia State, Elon, Charlotte, Appalachian State, Drexel, Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, UNCG, and Holy Cross have all expressed interest.
“They have been telling me that they love my game and be looking forward to them following me and they also have been saying they want to build a strong relationship first,” Tate said. “VCU and Texas A&M have been showing strong interest. Programs have expressed my high basketball IQ and ability to stretch the defense with my shot.”
