One of the names that we heard consistently this weekend at the Phenom Hoops Queen City Showcase was 2022 6’3 Silas Demary Jr. from Raleigh’s Finest.

Demary Jr. is yet another product from Millbrook high school and got a chance to see what he could do on varsity this past season, averaging 4.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in 23 appearances.

Now, he is using this summer to showcase his game and he certainly caught the attention of many. As Hoop State’s very own, Rod Bridgers, said… “Silas Demary Jr. is the next star out of Millbrook.”

Our very own, Jeff Bendel, has this to say after watching Demary Jr. in Rock Hill.

To call Demary the breakout prospect of the event would be somewhat of an understatement; he was that impressive. He's long, intelligent, and highlights a complete skillset on either end of the floor. Demary was the clear leader of this talented group, and highlighted an incredible balance between scoring and playmaking throughout the weekend. He runs a team with poise and precision but can also easily slide into an off-ball role and still make a lasting impact in all facets of the game. Demary showed flashes of being unstoppable in transition while maintaining unselfishness and hunting for the smartest available play.

Demary Jr. has been hoping to show his full game and he is quickly taking advantage of the opportunity, starting with his showing at the Queen City Showcase.

“I would say this weekend was a great experience to show everyone who I am and what I’ve been doing since quarantine started,” he said. “I would say I’ve been able to show how I can be a good teammate, be a valuable leader at all times, show I can score the ball any time, and lastly, show I can get my teammates involved too.”

He continues to build off his first season on varsity at Millbrook. Demary Jr. knew that he could physically play at that level but he knows that his coaches and playing at a high level have helped him mentally prepare for this summer. Now, his mindset is to just go after everything and everyone in front of him, so more will start hearing about him.

It could be the start for Demary Jr., as he has already received interests from Texas A&M, Old Dominion, Maryland Eastern Shore, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Western Carolina, High Point, Gardner-Webb, Appalachian State, and Mars Hill.

But it seems that Millbrook may be having another star come through the program and you may want to jump on board with Silas Demary Jr.
