Playing for Tea Marie 17u the last two weekends have brought more eyes to the game of 2021 7'0 Jacquez Shuler, who will now be attending Oakville Prep.

Shuler certainly brings the size but is continuing to improve in areas of his game.  He is a strong anchor down low in the post, shows good hands for getting on the glass, and touch to score the basketball around the paint.  Shuler also brings a vocal leadership on the court, helping direct his teammates.

He held several Division II offers and a few other JUCO offers before but it seems over the last few weeks, programs are starting to realize the potential of the big man.

Which is why schools like FIU and Eastern Kentucky have now offered, giving him his first two Division I offers.

'I'm just thankful for the opportunity, they are both great programs and they like how I run the floor, rebound, and how well I can shoot the ball as a big man,' he told Phenom Hoops. 'They both said they have been watching me play with Tea Marie these last couple of weekends and have heard good things about me.'

Along with FIU and EKU, schools like Texas Southern, St. John's, Elon, College of Charleston, Georgia St, NC Central, and East Carolina have all expressed interest his way, with Texas Southern, St. John's Charleston and Elon showing the strongest and could be the next offers to come.

Shuler is looking for a place where he can get valuable minutes early on and continue to improve on his weaknesses.  Right now, his recruitment has entered another level and could continue to rise with more eyes on his game.  You can't teach size like his and he certainly will be a hot topic throughout this summer.
