A guard rising up the rankings in the 2021 class, RJ Noord was one of the more impressive prospects recently at the Elon Elite Camp according to Phenom Hoops Rick Lewis, who was on deck for the entire camp.

Lewis said:

“We have had ample opportunities to watch RJ Noord several times with Team United this past spring/ summer. He has good strength, athleticism, and matching skill set to boot, not to mention he is a lights out shooter from the perimeter. Noord was one of the better guards in attendance that could easily create his own shot off limited dribbles and is effective with his right to left crossover pull-up jumper.”

Noord has continued his fantastic summer, continuing to showcase his ability to be one of the best guards and shooters in the state of Georgia.

“Summer basketball has been fantastic,” Noord told Phenom Hoops. “I played with Team United on the EYBL Circuit and it was a great experience playing against some of the best players and programs in the country.

Coming into the summer, I was a ‘good’ shooter but I definitely wanted to become an elite shooter after watching this year’s NBA Draft. Shooting matters.”

Noord is continuing to look for opportunities to prove himself as a player for at the next level, as he is looking forward to competing against the best in the coming months.

“As of right now, I am looking forward to going on as many visits as possible and playing in a lot of All-Star events and camps in Atlanta before I shift gears and focus on the high school season.”

Recruitment Update:

Noord was able to secure an offer from Elon at the Elite Camp but he also holds offers from Xavier and Georgia State. But it may just be the start for the Georgia guard, as coaches have been in contact with him.

“Recruitment has been going very well,” Noord said. “Coaches are hitting me up every hour of the day. Most schools that are recruiting me loved my scoring and defense but recently, I’ve been focusing on playing the point guard position and ever since then, my recruitment has been on fire. Coaches are telling me they love how vocal, engaged, and unselfish I am as a point guard, in addition to my scoring and shot-making ability.”

On top of his three offers, Noord said schools like Ole Miss, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Belmont, UAB, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, VCU, James Madison, and Iowa State have expressed interest his way.

He has plans on visiting a few of those schools as well in the coming months.

“I think I’m going to take a visit to Georgia on the 17th and go to Appalachian State and Winthrop on the 24th and 25th. Virginia Tech, VCU, and James Madison will be during my fall break.”

When he is on these visits though, Noord has a few factors that he is looking for in a future program.

“I’m definitely looking forward to a family environment but I’m also looking for a coach that has my back and is honest, truthful, and that can hold me accountable on and off the court.”
