Sometimes, it just takes time to realize and see the full potential and game for a player. That could be said about 2021 6’1 Jacobi Wright for Team Charlotte/ Legacy Early College, as he is now proving to everyone that he is one of the top point guards in the country.

Now a South Carolina commit, Wright has proven time and time again that he is a premier talent, showing fantastic IQ, great feel for the game, and the ability to score the ball on all levels.  At the Summer Havoc recently, he showed it all once again that he can not only effectively score the ball but also distribute it to his teammates.

He consistently attacked the rim, showing a smooth ability to create for himself. He is also a “team-first” type of player, finding open teammates on the floor and playing unselfish basketball.

It is safe to say that he has become one of the premier talents not only in the state of South Carolina but should also be mentioned as a Top-100 player in the country.

South Carolina certainly got themselves a talent, one that many overlooked.  Now, with his decision behind him, Wright just seems to be playing his game and having fun doing so.

What has Phenom Said:

Jacobi Wright is simply one of the top-scoring point guards in the Carolinas. He has a strong frame along with an advanced skill set and has the ability to get to the rim with ease. Wright finished with 25 points against Arizona Compass Prep going 9-19 from the floor, 3-9 from 3-point, and 4-6 from the free-throw line. Wright can score from all three levels and his stock continues to climb.” – Rick Lewis in 2019

“Wright was an absolute player on the court.  His change of pace with his handles could not be stopped, as he continued to get by his defender on multiple occasions.  Wright’s ability to break down opponents 1-on-1 as well as showcase his vision on the floor was big time.” – Patrick O’Brien from Battle at the Rock in 2019
