The Phenom Challenge is upon us and hundreds of teams will be in action in Spartanburg, as college coaches line the baseline to find a few undiscovered talents that are in hopes of having a big summer.

One player that could be of interest this weekend is 2020 6’5 Keishon Porter for Team Trezz.

Phenom Hoop Report watched this young man perform brilliantly at the Phenom QC Showcase in Fort Mill and he is looking to use that momentum heading into Spartanburg.

Porter is simply an athlete and it hits you in the face immediately of what he can do. He plays football and basketball, both of which he is receiving interest. On the football field at Southwest Edgecombe, he racked up 43 receptions for 730 yards and 16 touchdowns.

On the basketball court, that same athleticism translates well as Porter has an excellent motor.

Porter has a nice blend of size and skill set, as he really played well pushing the ball up the court or running in transition, which is where his football skills can come in handy. He plays with a strong mentality and displayed at the Phenom QC Showcase that he can score at all three levels. Watching him in one game pour in 27 points, Porter was a force inside and out.

To simply put, he was a workhorse on the court.

But how would he describe his game'

“I’m like a combo guard that can play on both ends and I’m very quick,” Porter said. “I can get past defenders and can score on all three levels. Every time I get on the court, I have a dog mentality and kill anything that gets in my way.”

That is exactly the reason why coaches have expressed interest and we wouldn’t be surprised if offers start coming his way.

Currently, Porter reports that schools like East Carolina, Georgetown, College of Charleston, Mercer, UNCG, Mars Hill, Western Carolina, NCCU, and Barton College have all expressed some type of interest so far.

Porter will be one of many prospects though that will be on display at the Phenom Challenge but expect the eyes to grow on this 2020 prospect and what he brings to the court.
