This weekend I traveled up to Corinth, MS to catch the 6thannual Lighthouse Classic Thanksgiving tournament. This was my first time here since 2014, and it has really grown since then. In 2014 I had the chance to watch Malik Newman, Jaylen Fisher, Q Witherspoons and many more. Friday night had Stars displayed on the hardwood. The Lighthouse classic is a part of the Grind Session circuit which broadcast some of the top high school events in the nation. Here are a some of the guys that showed up and showed out.

Callaway(MS) 2021 PG 5'10 Daeshun Ruffin

Ruffin is one of those players that you just fall in love with after a few plays. He brings so much confidence and energy to the game that anybody who likes basketball would pay to see. Matched up against a much bigger Memphis East (#4 Nationally) team who have the 2019 #1 player in the country James Wiseman, he dominated. For starters he started the game off with an unconscious pull up 3 over a defender and followed up with a nasty turnaround jumper from 3 off a catch and shot scenario. He finished with 21 points and multiple highlight plays. Ruffin is a top 100 worthy player and should break into the national eye this spring/summer

Offers: Auburn, Miss State, Ole Miss

Florence(MS) 6'4 SG Jaylen Forbes (Alabama Commit)

Forbes is one I've heard so much about, but Saturday I got to see firsthand what many had been saying for a while. Jaylen came out very aggressive scoring almost at will. Forbes is a sharp shooter who can shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor. Hisoffensive ability is limitless, and scoring seems to be second nature as he puts up points in bunches. Alabama have a very good Shooting guard on the way. He finished with 31 pts & 12reb.

West Oaks 2019 6'1 Tyrell Jones (Auburn)

Auburn have a very good PG on the way that will be fill the void that harper will leave after next season. Tyrell is a very physical guard who can shoot lights out from behind the arc. Jones is a game tested player who comes alive in the big games. With his tight handle, crisp jumper, and lock down defensive ability he causes problems on both ends of the floor for other guards. Look for Jones and West Oaks to make a run at the title this year in florida.

Olive Branch 2019 6'7 DJ Jeffries (Memphis)

Olive Branch hold the upper hand to most schools in Mississippi. They have Jeffries which is more than enough to cement any team as a championship contender. Coming off a championship run last season Olive Branch still look like favorites to win it again. Jeffries has had a superb high school career thus far and will look to close out as a champion. The size and skill for his position is second to none and he uses it all well. With the ability to handle and shoot he's a nightmare for any prep level opponent. He finished with 17pts & 13reb

Memphis East 2019 7' C James Wiseman (Memphis)

The #1 2019 player did exactly what a #1 prospect is supposed to which is dominate the game. Wiseman has such a unique skill set for his size. Standing at 7ft tall he dribbles with ease, can knock down the 3 ball, and finish way above the rim whenever he wants. He's a tough cover for anybody on the prep level and this will translate well at the college level. With this being my first time watching him play in person there was no doubt in my mind that he's a legit #1 not only because of his size, but his skill as well. With Penny at Memphis and these studs he has on the way next year we can be sure that Memphis will be Must seeTV! If you can catch Wiseman this year or next year at Memphis it's a must because he will definitely be a Lottery pick in the 2020 Draft.
