Heading around the country once again, we head out to California in our latest 1-on-1, talking to players around the country to not only learn about their game but also recruitment. Obenyah is a 6’4 prospect who has nearly racked up double-digit offers, with his latest coming from the ACC.  He talks more about his game and his goals for the upcoming season, along with his thoughts on his latest offer from California.

Game Description:

“I believe I am a good two-way guard with good instincts and ball skills. I work well around the basket and in the midrange and can make plays for my teammates by using my slashing ability to get into the paint. I think right now I can definitely improve on my shooting around the arc as well as making my decisions a split second quicker in preparation for this game at the next level.”

Areas of Improvement:

“Three-point shooting specifically getting the ball off of my hands faster. Also quicker decision-making and leadership.”

Excitement about the upcoming HS Season:

“I am excited to go for another Open State Title, which is my main goal for the season as well.”

Thoughts on the latest offer (California):

“This latest offer really just makes me want to work harder. I want to play at the highest level possible. I’ve been following California ever since I started following college basketball. They have been talking to me since my freshman year.”
