Fisher-Davis Sets Announcement Date
Matthew Fisher-Davis, the Charlotte Christian shooting guard, has experienced a pretty substantial rise since the July AAU period started. The 6’4 shooter, with the pure touch exploded from 3 lower level offers to have power conference schools call him their number one priority.
Now that things have calmed a bit, Fisher-Davis has set a final group of schools and announced he will make his final decision on September 25. Fisher-Davis has narrowed his list to two SEC schools (Vanderbilt and Georgia) and two ACC schools (Wake Forest and UVa).
Two weekends ago Fisher-Davis took his first official visit to Vanderbilt. He visited the same weekend as 6’4 California shooting guard Trey Kell and 6’4 New Jersey combo guard Wade Baldwin. Baldwin ended up committing after the visit, says Fisher Davis, “The game was crazy, Wade committed, both he and Trey were cool. The players too!” Fisher-Davis continued, “I can see myself playing alongside Wade, he is a real good player.”
Last weekend Fisher-Davis visited Georgia. While on campus, Georgia had a big rivalry game against the University of South Carolina, Fisher-Davis said, “It’s crazy out here!” Fisher-Davis, who has fellow classmate Jeb Blazevich committed to play football there, took the visit along with his friend.
When asked to compare the two schools, Fisher-Davis said “They’re both cool, each have things better than the other.” He went on to say, that both schools gave him the tingles at times.
Fisher-Davis will visit Wake Forest this weekend. Wake Forest has 6’2 NC point guard Shelton Mitchell and 7’2 Alabama center Isaac Haas committed. Next weekend he will visit Virginia, they have 6’5 Virginia shooting guard BJ Stith and 6’7 Georgia forward Isaiah Wilkins committed.
In the end, Fisher-Davis says distance from home will not be a huge factor, but his “comfort level” will play a major role.
